Arena Final - Report
On Sunday 10th December Winsford Swim Team were racing in the North West Premier League final at Macclesfield. Winsford have now been in the Premier League for 6 years which in itself is a fantastic achievement, and out of those 6 years making the A Final in 4 of those. We were looking as always to swim as fast as possible and to attain as higher position as possible. As expected the Final was so very strong with some outstanding swimmers on show from all the clubs taking part. Winsford Swim Team on the night gave our very best achieving some outstanding results, 4 1st places, 3 2nd places and 2 3rd places, what is interesting to note is that only Stockport, Liverpool, Warrington and Preston had more 1st places than us. The goal on the night was to finish above 8th place but unfortunately we couldn't quite manage that, and for that I take full responsibility, but I can't emphasise enough how proud I am of each and every swimmer who raced for us over the 3 rounds. All our swimmers gave their all and that is all I can ask for. I know Winsford Swim Team will come back even more determined next season and achieve even greater success.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our success over all 3 rounds. Our Coaches Nigel Woodbridge, Alex Law, Claire Brown and Daniel Stone, our future is in safe hands with coaches of this calibre. Our Team Managers Claire Brown, Sue Wright & Helen Wilson who make my life so easy and organise our club and swimmers to perfection, our judges and time keepers and to our superb supporters. We were again crowned best supported club, so well done to the orange army. As always the biggest thank you goes to all our swimmers. I mentioned above how proud I am of all our swimmers, and that will never change because I know everyone gave their all on today.
We now have less than 6 weeks until we return to Macclesfield to compete in the Cheshire County Championships, I am sure our swimmers will be trying to put in as many sessions as possible over the coming weeks in preparation. Our next focus is our Winsford Christmas Meet in a weeks time, I am sure all our younger swimmers will have a great time and hopefully achieve some more County Qualifying Times.
