Inter Association Report 2017
On Sunday 25th June Winsford Swim Team had 14 swimmers representing the North Midlands Swimming Association. The North Midlands were competing against the large urban regions, Liverpool & District, Manchester & District, Bolton & District, Cumbria and North Lancashire. Racing was fierce and very competitive with the best swimmers throughout the North West of England coming together in Blackpool to race for points and medals. All swimmers who competed did fantastically well, the swimmers who came from Winsford gained some outstanding PB's, Top 6 placings and medals.

It was a great day for our swimmers accumulating 10 medals. It was also great to see all the clubs and swimmers from the North Midlands coming together and competing as a team. For me personally it was nice getting to know different faces from different clubs and great to see all swimmers mingling. Well Done to all swimmers from all clubs who represented the North Midlands. It was great fun today, finishing off on a real high by coming second in the 8x50 Free Cannon relay, narrowly beaten by Liverpool & District.
Thanks to Chris Pugh & Karl Needham who were pool side coaching all day and to Phil Balcombe who picked the team which was no small task coordinating it all. Thanks to all parents for your support and many thanks to all swimmers who represented the North Midlands. I am sure the North Midlands Swimming Association have got a great future in the Inter Association Championships for years to come.
