North West Arena Premier League - Round 2 REPORT

On Saturday 11th November Winsford Swim Team raced in round 2 of the North West Arena Premier League at Macclesfield. We were up against some strong opposition, including Southport, City of Salford, City of Liverpool, Blackpool, Trafford, Biddulph & Stockport Metro but as always we were geared up for the challenge. The goal of the night was simple, to gain enough points to go with what we accumulated in round 1 to make the A Final, ranking in the top 8 in the North West of England.
The racing over the whole evening was fierce, explosive and such great fun to watch. Winsford Swim Team as always performed to an exceptionally high standard right through the ages, with all swimmers knowing that their role was key to our team's success. Winsford over the evening gained 8 1st place finishes, only City of Liverpool and Stockport Metro with more, 8 2nd places and 3 3rd places. The number of 1st places was very pleasing, but as always each and every point is so very important and there is no doubt each and every swimmer raced their hearts out and for that I am so very grateful.

If all points are verified then Winsford Swim Team have made the Premier League A Final for the 4th year out of the past 6 years we have been in the Premier League, this is a fantastic achievement for a club from a town of little over 30,000 people. It just shows that we continue to punch above our weight and shows what true determination, fight and most of all togetherness we have got.
I would like to thank all swimmers for what was a truly special evening of racing, your attitude is first class. As always a massive thank you to all swimmers, coaches, team managers, supporters and judges, everyone who makes a contribution to our club, thank you so much. It was great to see so many swimmers who were not picked for the team travelling down to Macclesfield to support their team mates.
We now look forward to the A Final, there is no doubt all swimmers will be taking training to a new level in preparation for the team gala of the year. I have a goal for the final and this year we will achieve this if we prepare thoroughly. Can all swimmers please train as much as possible over the next month and keep the weekend of the 9th/10th December free. The Final in previous years has been on the Sunday but please keep both days free until we have confirmation of the date. It is imperative to have 100% attendance at the North West Premier League A Final to give us the best possible chance.
Thanks again to one and all for a fantastic evening of racing, and thank you to Erika Howman for providing the Rocky Road and to Mark Harwood for the Egg Custards! As someone said we are the best fed club in the country! It is exciting times for Winsford Swim Team, it is exciting times to be a part of such a wonderful TEAM.
Determined people working together can do anything.
See you at the pool.
Thanks Dan.
