Welsh Nationals Report 2018

The Welsh Nationals meet took place from in Swansea from Mon 30th July - Sun 5th August with Winsford fielding 4 swimmers.

On Wednesday, Henry Oliver was first up in the 200 free. It was a shakey qualifier, off his PB, scraping into the final by qualifying 8th. Good improvement in the final, back on pb and finishing 4th.

On Thursday, Henry was in the 800 free. A 6s PB gaining Silver and only missing out on gold by less than a second.

On Friday,  Lottie Howman and Adam Blackshaw arrived with Lottie swimming the 100 fly and 400 free with solid swims. Adam swam the 200 fly qualifying for the final 4th fastest and finishing the final in 6th. Henry swam the 50 Free with a small PB getting him into the final 4th seed and finishing the final 5th with another small PB.

On Saturday, Theo arrived and swam the 1500 free. Solid swim and just off PB and came in 6th. Henry swam the 1500 and finally broke his PB from two years ago and in doing so got the Gold. He also swam the 50 fly making the final and coming 6th overall. Lottie swam the 50 breast and 200 IM beating her PBs in both events.

The final day of the meet was on Sunday with Henry and Theo were both swimming in the 400m Free. Theo was up first and managed a good swim finishing close to his PB. Henry then finished the meet on PB and getting the Bronze.
