18 and Overs and Training in Tier 2

Through both lockdowns and our first and second restart we have always followed the advice given to us by Swim England.
Whether those aged 18 and over, which includes our Masters and a handful of Juggernaut and Development swimmers, can swim has been the subject of confusion over the past week.
However there current understanding of the government's rules for 18s and over are as follows:
  • Tier one: Activities can continue and the rule of six applies for all disciplines as it did before the second national lockdown.
  • Tier two: Swim England’s understanding is that club activity can continue, as long as individuals from different households don’t mix pre, during or post training.
  • Tier three: No club training can take place.
This is a summary of the relevant points.  The full article is available here.
So currently 18 and overs are allowed to swim, however, Swim England are waiting for further clarification from the government and will issue a further update soon.
If you are in this age range please keep a close eye on club emails and the schedule as it may be necessary to remove you from training if the rules change.
Thank you
Michael
