Running Challenge - 'The Champions'
That is it The Running Challenge has finished. Well done to everyone who took part and to many runners that ran every single week and completed every challenge - I have been astounded by how many great runners Winsford swimming club has.
The most important bit is who won !!!
The Results are:-
THE 3K
This short distance became the most entertaining, with Michael Secker setting the time to beat. This week a number of runners went out to beat Michael. I was so pleased when Connor McVicar ran 11:47 and equalled Michael's time. Not to be beaten, Michael got some help from Alberto Salazar and ran 11:19 !!

THE 5K
This was another very competitive distance. At the start of the week Lewis Turner was winning with a time of 19:43. Tom Carss (who has excelled at all distances) managed to beat Lewis's time by one second.

THE 8K
At the start of the challenge, only adults were running this distance. Great to see that by the end 24 runners ran the distance. Will LINE has been fantastic throughout, every week he set new pbs and always challenging himself running further distances.

THE 10K
This distance was only in the challenge for a short time. Great to see runners really pushing themselves to run the distance. The top three times were really close between Will Line, Connor McVicar and Tom Carss.

Most Improved Runner
I thought this would be difficult to work out. But one young lady stood out from the crowd. She is an absolute super star. She ran every single run that she could. She achieved 19 PBs. She came third in the overall points table. She started off with the 3K and has worked so hard that she ran the 8K four times and pushed herself even further to run the 10K twice, further than she has ever run before.

1st - Michelle INCH - 115 points
The last 'little' prize is for THE BEST EXCUSE. It has kept me amused each week to hear the excuses for not running well. I won't name the winner because I wouldn't want to embarrass him (you know who you are!!).
Please feel free to use any of these excuses if you ever need one:-
1st - 'I was distracted by an RAF plane that flew over my head'
2nd - 'I had to carry the dog'
3rd - 'I fell into a load of nettles'
4th - 'I was wearing my dad's watch'
5th - 'It's my Mums fault because she is too competitive'
