Christmas Meet 2021- Last chance to enter!

A reminder that the closing date for Transition and Masters swimmers to enter the Christmas Meet on the 4th December is the 17th November.
This is a great opportunity to have a go at racing for the first time, trying new events or trying to beat your personal bests.
Remember there is NO training taking place on the 4th December so, if you want to swim, you need to enter.

Frequently asked questions
What should I enter?
Whatever strokes you like swimming the most.  If in doubt 50 Freestyle is the best event to enter for your first gala.
Will I get a chance to practice my race skills?
Yes.  Over the next few weeks we will be practicing turns and getting the blocks out to work on starts.  There will also be the option for additional training for Transition C swimmers on a Sunday for those who have entered.
Could I get disqualified?
This is a licensed event which means disqualifications are possible.  However, we will go easy on new racers for minor mistakes.  Swimming the wrong stroke for the entire race, however, is a different story.  If you know that you make a lot of mistakes on one of your strokes then miss that one out for this event.  That's why 50m Freestyle is a good one for new racers as there isn't a lot that can go wrong.
How long will it go on for?
That all depends on what you enter.  Probably between one and two and a half hours.  Most of the Transition events are in the second session so you will need to be there from 3.45pm.
Can I bring snacks poolside?
Yes.
Can I share my snacks with Michael?
Yes.  In fact, it is essential that Michael is offered sweets at every opportunity.
Hope to see you there.
Michael
