Winsford Swimming Club

11 of our Winsford Masters headed to Ponds Forge for Swim England Masters Nationals 2021.

Nationals is always super fast, watching the fastest in the country compete for National titles as well as British, European and World Records being broken. This year did not disappoint!! We’ve been training well and Nickie Ma has been working super hard to get us race ready for our individuals and relays. It was amazing to be back competing normally again, and finally back in Sheffield, the pool we all love!!

In total we brought back 7 National Medals and lots of PBs!

GOLD 50 Brst, GOLD 100 Brst, SILVER 200 Brst- Karen Bloyce (40-44 AG)
GOLD 200 Fly, GOLD 400 IM, SILVER 200 IM- Molly James (25-29 AG)
SILVER 4x100 Medley Relay- Emily Jevons, Sue Marsh, Molly James, Stephne Douglas (120+ AG)

Shout out to Izzy for getting super close to her lifetime Backstroke PBs and taking on a heat full of extremely fast Loughborough University Swimmers.
Hannah broke 30 seconds on 50 Free for the first time EVER.
Ross raced like a champion doing all 3 out of 3 events as PBs.
Great to see Alex, Jacob & Georgia racing in those Winsford hats again!
The 72+ Relays were incredible to watch, placing 7th (Medley) & 9th (Freestyle) in the country!

Thank you to Dan & Nickie for their endless support and the committee for allowing the Masters team the best opportunity to train, help fund our relays and giving us the best chance of doing well on a National level.
