Time Trial Report - Saturday 23rd Oct 2021

Congratulations to all the swimmers who took part in the Time Trial on Saturday 23rd October.
We wanted this to be a fun opportunity to get some experience racing, try some new events out and discover some areas for improvement.
And that's what we got!
Positives
Lots of personal bests with many swimmers now having target times for Cheshire qualifications.
We also had lots of swimmers trying out new events (which also means an automatic personal best) including 6 brave/crazy (delete as appropriate) swimmers trying the 400 Individual Medley.
All the swimmers were incredibly supportive of each other, cheering each other on and congratulating each other after each race.  It was wonderful to see that team spirit that Winsford swimmers are known for.
We had a wonderful team of Young Volunteers who gave up their time to come and help as timekeepers, turn judges and stroke judges.  Not only did they record all the times, they also made notes on where swimmers need to be careful for potential disqualifications.  We even got some notes on technique and skills to feedback to the swimmers on where they can shave off a few extra seconds on their swims.
Negatives
Michael didn't get offered enough sweets!
Well done and thank you to everybody.   Keep an eye on the gala calendar for other competitions that you may be able to enter coming up.  If in doubt, speak to your coaches about what you should be entering and they will point you in the right direction.
Full results are available here: https://swimming.events/meets/159/results. Remember these will not appear on your personal best times as it wasn't a licensed gala - however you can use them to enter the Christmas Meet and other galas that don't need licensed times such as the Satellites Meets.
If any parents would like to get involved with helping out at with the club in anyway feel free to speak to me at the pool.  This could be getting involved in the big way such as taking on a committee position.  Training to be an official so we can keep running competitions or becoming a Team Manager or a Marshall at a Gala.  It could even be an extra pair of hands helping to set up the pool.  Any and all help is always much appreciated.
See you at the pool.
Michael
