Winsford Christmas Meet 2021 - Report

Wow! A brilliant day of racing today at Winsford. It was brilliant to see so many happy faces and friendly competition amongst swimmers. The fast-paced nature of today was tough, many swimmers were racing back-to-back with little recovery, but despite this they gave everything to their races and that made the day so enjoyable and positive.

We had so many PBs from all squads and in many different events, showing our strength in depth across the club, well done everyone. Lots of new Cheshire times gained and those who already qualified were racing to gain faster times! We also had medals back for the first time, YAY!!

Special mention to Harry George, Hannah Keegan and Oliver Hill, who have already competed in their first gala after only a few weeks in Transition, we are very impressed.

Well done to Transition and Development swimmers for focusing on their race skills, stroke technique, pacing and turns – this really showed today. Lucie George, our head judge, commented on the high standard that you all showed today.

A big thank you and well done to our Juggernaut swimmers who stepped up today, showing real independence and maturity in warm-ups, races and on poolside.

Finally thank you to our officials and volunteers, some of whom this was their first gala helping, without you we couldn’t race, we are very grateful! Today ran very smoothly, thank you all!

Well done everyone, see you at the pool!
