Winsford Swimming Club

Congratulations to all swimmers who competed and represented Winsford Swim Team over the 3 weekends and 12 sessions of the Cheshire County Championships. There was so many outstanding, and very exciting races with 43 GOLD, 62 SILVER and 49 BRONZE Medals achieved giving us a total of 154 Medals for the 12 sessions of competition. Add to this we also achieved 296 finals/top 8 placings which is an incredible achievement.

2024 was a bumper year with 76 swimmers achieving qualification for the Cheshire Champs, which is fantastic in itself and probably a record number. Everyone massively stepped up to the plate and this is testament for the hard work put in by so many of our swimmers. At Macclesfield we had 29 swimmers achieving medal/s and 59 swimmers achieving a final/s, which is 78% of all swimmers. 

Race after race all our swimmers did their very best, giving everything for their club and our team. It was great to watch both heats and finals, but especially the finals as there is nothing better than racing against 7 other swimmers in a super atmosphere for medals.

It was so very pleasing to see how many medals and finals we achieved, but what made it all the better was the spread of results over so many swimmers, with all 76 swimmers making such a valuable contribution for our success. This strength in depth showed, with Winsford Swim Team having representatives in all the SKINS events, with Kate Schillinger 1st, Harry Jones 7th in the 14 years and under age category, and Lewis Turner 5th, Adam Wright 7th and Amy Kenworthy 8th in the 15 and over category. 

Again our strength in depth showed in the relay results, with Winsford Swim Team achieving 19 medals out of a total of 25 events, and in the relays where we didn’t gain a medal we were very close. The relay results were probably the best we have ever had in terms of medals won and that should be massively applauded. For a special note, Winsford Swim Team gained the most medals in the relays out of any club in the County of Cheshire, fantastic swimming from all involved.

Full results are below, any errors please let us know, but needless to say the results were amazing with so much achievement. Winsford Swim Team have again had a superb year at the Cheshire County Championships.
