Liverpool Spring Meet (1)

Congratulations to all swimmers who raced in the Liverpool LC Spring Meet. Over the weekend we had 31 swimmers racing, ranging in ages and experience but as always we were looking to race with tremendous determination. This was our first LC meet of the season and the first in the National qualifying window. The results over the weekend were superb with many new LC PB's achieved and many medals won. Swimming of course is not just about winning medals but it is about learning from the races we do, there is no doubt we will all learn new things to execute in our next LC meet in a few weeks time. The results were extremely encouraging for us all especially with this being our first LC meet of 2017, the results achieved will give us a benchmark to build upon over the next two months.

Thank you very much to all swimmers who made the weekend such a great success and very enjoyable. Your attitude and deiscipline is second to none, always striving for improvement, I may not show it sometimes but everyday is a joy working with you.  I would also like to say a special thank you to Helen Wilson, Sarah Jane Armitt & Nigel Woodbridge, who were outstanding as team managers. Our team managers at all meets always bring happiness, joy and positivity to our swimmers and coaches which is very important and greatly appreciated. All swimmers raced tremendously well, but I would like to leave a special mention to Millie Riddick who has gone from strength to strength this season. Millie attends every single morning training session and has one of the furthest distances to travel to get to the pool, great commitment Well Done. I would also like to mention our three youngest swimmers Adam Wright, Lewis Turner and Theo Oliver all of which are under 12 years of age. All three raced superbly well in a LC pool for which they have limited racing experience. Well Done.
Again well done to all competitors, many swimmers have posted very fast LC ranking times so early in the National window which is very encouraging. We now move on forwards to the SM distance events on Friday evening and then the following weekend we go to Sheffield for the Derventio Meet.
Over the same weekend we also had six swimmers travel to Bolton to try and gain Regional QT's. The feedback I have gained was excellent with a number of swimmers gaining Regional QT's or going very close, also a good number of medals were achieved. Well done to Adam & Abbey Brown, Alissa Blackshaw, Ethan Wright, Henry Oliver and Alex Moss who were competing.
To finish off this report a little paragraph which reflects our club:
Crawling is acceptable, Falling is acceptable, Puking is acceptable, Bleeding is acceptable, Sweat is acceptable, Pain is acceptable, Quitting is never, ever, ever acceptable. We are intense, we are obsessed, we are not normal, we say yes when others say no, we rise whilst others sleep, we are better today than we were yesterday, we will do what others will not, we control our destiny, we are on a quest, WE WILL NEVER STOP.
The key to success is consistency, consistency in attendance and consistency in training performance. Those swimmers who always attend and those swimmers who always train to a high level make the biggest gains.
See you all at the pool, lets work together.
Apologies for any errors in the report. Thanks Dan.
