New Timekeepers Urgently Needed!
In order to run events like the September Sprints and Club Champs, the club urgently needs new Timekeeper Volunteers.
With this qualification you can only help at Level 4 events but, by having the extra volunteers, it means the events can be licensed and the times can be used for galas up to County Level. Many of our volunteer timekeepers end up going on to become Judges so they can help out at external events too.
A lack of new timekeepers will have a hugely negative impact on the future of Winsford Swimming Club. Swimmers will struggle to get official times which means they will find it harder to enter galas. We will also find our swimmers being rejected from external galas as most require visiting clubs to provide an official for every 10 swimmers attending.
To be a Timekeeper you need to join Swim England as a club member, do a short online course and then complete a practical assessment demonstrating that you know how to use a stopwatch in a race situation.
The club will be running a practical assessment in training on Wednesday 30th July from 7pm - 9pm in the Juggernaut session.
If you can help the club by becoming a Timekeeper, please email Michael on wasclessons@gmail.com or Sue on wingalateam@gmail.com and we will send you the links to join the club and complete the online course.
If you are willing to become a Timekeeper but cannot attend on the 30th July that's fine. Please still get in touch and we will find a suitable time for you to get signed off (probably at the September Sprints)
Thank you from everyone at Winsford Club
