North Midlands Championships 2019 - 182 Medals - TOP CLUB 2019 - TOP CLUB for Seventh Year running
Congratulations to all swimmers who represented Winsford Swim Team at the North Midland Championships 2019. The results were incredible with all swimmers racing out of their skins (and some racing in the SKINS!) and time and time again achieving life times best swims.
Over two long weekends Winsford Swim Team travelled to Macclesfield to race in the North Midland Championships 2019. Winsford had 97 swimmers in total racing for our club and team, ranging from the very youngest to the more experienced swimmers who have seen it, done it and got the t shirt. The North Midlands is for the clubs in Cheshire East, Cheshire West and North Staffordshire with 16 different clubs coming together to see which swimmers are crowned North Midland Champion and which club is top in the whole of the North Midland area.
The results for our club and our swimmers over the two weekends and 8 sessions were outstanding, our swimmers time and time again stepped up to the plate and raced with tremendous skill and determination. There is way too many individual performances to mention but overall the results were superb with medal after medal being won, with Winsford achieving a grand total of 182 medals of which 51 different swimmers winning at least one medal, which was more than in 2018. Not only did we win a huge number of medals but we achieved countless number of top 8 placings which all contributed to our overall club points total. On the last day of competition we also had 8 swimmers achieve a spot in the SKINS, adding to this we also had 7 swimmers achieve a top 3 spot in the overall points scores for the 9-12 years age group category.
After 2 weekends and 8 sessions of racing Winsford Swim Team accumulated an absolutely fantastic points score of 1875, and with this we were crowned TOP CLUB in the North Midlands for the seventh consecutive year. TOP CLUB for the seventh year on the bounce is a tremendous achievement for our club and our swimmers who have represented our club this year and years gone by.

As always thank you to all our coaches, team managers, judges and everyone who helped organise such a wonderful North Midlands 2019. Winsford Swim Team played a leading role in organising the North Midlands and in my opinion this was the best North Midlands to date. Congratulations go to Sharon Willson for passing her J1 and Adam Parkinson for passing his J2.
Well Done again to all who represented Winsford Swim Team over 2 weekends and 8 sessions of competition. We had 97 swimmers representing and competing for our club and our coaches, the largest number in our history by some margin. It was great to see the whole club coming together to compete under the Winsford banner and race tremendously well, helping us to retain our North Midlands crown as TOP CLUB in the North Midlands 2019 and to keep us at the top of the tree for the last 7 years on the bounce.
We now look forward to the Winter Regionals in 2 weeks time and Round 2 of the North West Arena Premier League the week after. It is absolutely crucial that all swimmers optimise their training in the lead into these meets/galas and the meets which follow in late November and into December. The next target in terms of Championship swimming for many of our swimmers is County Qualification and this year again we will be looking to increase our numbers racing in Macclesfield at the Cheshire County Championships 2019.
