North Mids Report 2025 - Weekend 2

Sorry for the delay - super busy few days for a number of members of the team. A very positive weekend; tons of PBs, exciting racing and fantastic team spirit. Following a full team talk the swimmers knew the plan and absolutely delivered.
After both weekends Winsford have once again taken the ‘Top club’ and improved our results by 28% across the whole club! A superb achievement – well done all!
A fantastic display of depth once again with multiple top swimmer awards.
Top 9 year old boy – Harvey Briscoe
Top 9 year old girl – Esme Fraser
Top 10 year old girl – Isla Clifford
Top 12 year old girl – Eris Coxon
Further congratulations to Isla Clifford for winning ‘Top Girl Overall’ – super impressive and always with a huge smile!
Many thanks to all our TMs: Rachel Lines, Sara Hancock, Gemma Barnett, Petra Hadingham, Paul Heatley, Ali Brennan, Eve Jones, Dani Stonier, Gemma Robinson and Claire Turner. The first gala back after summer is always a bit crazy but I was so pleased to see you all back this weekend for more! And thank you to all parents who helped with officiating, starting, marshalling etc. without you all there as volunteers there wouldn’t be a gala - thank you!!
Thank you to Ethan for assisting coaching both weekends, wonderful to have you with us! Ethan has also kindly done an exciting skins review for us:
In the 14 & under girls Jess Barnett was 8th, Ruby Stonier came 7th and Hattie Lawson was 6th. All 3 of these girls are only 12, so to even qualify for the 14 & under skins is a big achievement and we look forward to seeing what they can achieve in the next 2 years!
For the 14 & under lads Abel Buso was 7th, Gabe Holt was 5th and a huge congratulations to Gus Fraser who managed to win skins even though neither of his favourite strokes came up!
Then came the 15 & over skins. For the women, Emily Lines unfortunately went out first (despite doing a 50 fly pb), Sophie Grindley was 7th on a very close finish and Molly Brennan made it to 4th, getting herself a nice bonus when backstroke came up.
For the open/mens Ciaran Turner was 6th and Ed Smalley powered his way to 3rd, also getting some bonuses when backstroke was drawn.
Super results for North Mids this year, fantastic start to the season everyone! Well done!
Thanks,
Iz and team
