SENW Junior Regionals Report 2025
Over two long very weekends our 14s and Under North West Regional qualifiers took to Manchester and Liverpool for some fierce, fast racing. The morning session started with all the heats with some days being over 5 hours long of racing, extremely tough race conditions this year & then into finals late afternoon for those speedy qualifiers. We had finalists in all different age groups, strokes and distances showing our strength across the board - it was truly fantastic racing. The weekends included countless PBs, some swimmers gaining times quick enough for the National board. For many of our swimmers this was their first time racing Regionals or even racing their event long course, but nobody looked inexperienced, the 50m training we have brought in this season is evidently working as all our swimmers raced smart and looked strong for such inexperienced long course racers. So absolutely huge well done to each and everyone one of our swimmers.
Thank you to our team managers Dani, Zoe, John, Gemma, and Gary for volunteering. To Stuart Fraser for officiating and even Jackie Schillinger for coming over on weekend 1 after the last minute official shortage appeal. To Izzy, Andy and John with the coaching and working such long, long days & to Kym Lawson for providing the ice lollies and cold goods to keep us surviving at an extremely hot Liverpool & to all our orange t-shirt parents making noise from the balcony.
