Winsford Swimming Club

It was our seniors' time to perform now. With bad timing, exams looming and SENW not helping with keeping our swimmers calm with the scheduling we were apprehensive as a coaching team how it would go. But thankfully we pulled through, it was so much better than we could have imagined and we are one happy coaching team! The competition started on weekend 1 with our relays where we had 14-16 Male and Female 4x100 & 200 Freestyle, 4x100 Medley and then the female open competing in the 4x100 Medley and 4x200 Freestyle. We have such amazing squad depth that we even managed to put in A&B teams for the first time which was absolutely fantastic to see, all teams gave it their all and performed wonderfully with our open ladies winning bronze on the medley with an incredible performance! We moved onto the final weekend which was incredibly long… 15 individuals to sit through per day, 5 hours worth of racing before finals. We had swimmers going to the revision room to study in between, but we kept our heads in the game and performed in the pool. The seniors produced some of the best racing we have seen across the entire meet, it was absolutely phenomenal to watch, the gutsy performances each and everyone showed was a credit to the club. So massive well done, it’s amazing to see the big block of training we’ve had is paying off. 

Huge thank you to Rachel, Nickie, Eve, and Ali for TM’ing. For Jackie Schillinger for officiating the whole weekend from start to finish & Andy & Reece for officiating you were all brilliant. 

We swiftly move onto our last weekend of the national window… I know you’re all getting tired and ready for a break, this block of training has been tough but we are nearly there! One last push for attending training would be hugely appreciated.
