SENW Regional Para-Swimming Training Session 23.6.2024

In line with Swim England Talent Team, Swim England North West host a number of training sessions per year for the Regional Development Programme.

The programme is organised to development young talent, with insight into aquatic alignment and underwater streamlining and stroke development. Land training exercise to build mobility, stability and fundamental movement patterns, click here for further details and to book.

 

SENW National Skills and Age Group Qualifier – Diving Competition

Swim England North West Diving Management Group are delighted to confirm that their SENW National Skills Qualifier Competition will be taking place at Manchester Aquatics Centre on Saturday 18th May 2024, click here for all the details.

SENW Young Volunteer Award (Online) 29.4.2024

The Swim England North West Young Volunteer Award is designed to provide young people, between the ages of 14 and 17 the opportunity to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to prepare them as Volunteers within Aquatic Sport.  The Award has been designed to suit young people from any Aquatic Discipline, (Swimming, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming and Diving).

Open Water Officials Training

Swim England Open Water Officials representative, Paul Kendall is looking at running Open Water Technical Officials theory training again this year.  Potential dates for the training are as follows (which will be delivered via Zoom and is expected to last approximately 3 hours):

  • Saturday 27th April
  • Saturday 18th May &/or Sunday 19th May

A free learner-led CPD to provide an introduction to equality, diversity and inclusion. Please note, CPD attendance is now a mandatory requirement as part of Club Affiliation for executive officers.

Governance Guidance – Club Structures and Templates

As part of affiliation to Swim England all clubs have to have a constitution i.e. the document that outlines the functions and the rules under which the club operates.

The constitution, together with the club’s policies and procedures, helps to protect club members and officers, and makes the club run more smoothly.

If your Club/League/Local Association constitution is due to expire in 2024 please contact swimnorthwest@swimming.org to ensure you have the correct constitution model template to complete.

Changes to DBS and Safeguarding requirements

As part of our commitment to safeguarding and welfare, from 1 January 2024, all club staff whose DBS and Safeguarding expire, will not be allowed poolside unsupervised. The changes have been published in Wavepower 2024. A second Safeguarding refresher module is now available to those who have completed the full Swim England face-to-face / online CPD, click here

Funding is also available for clubs that complete the refresher and face to face CPD via Swim England/IOS click here for full details.

 

Please note the Swim England safeguarding course is the only Approved training From 2024, anyone who holds a role which Wavepower states requires safeguarding training will need to complete the Swim England Safeguarding course. This is a bespoke course which covers the important and unique aspects of safeguarding in an aquatic environment.
