SENW National Skills and Age Group Qualifier – Diving Competition

Good luck to all the athletes competing at this weekends SENW National Skills Qualifier Competition the event will be taking place at Manchester Aquatics Centre on Saturday 18th May 2024, Spectator tickets can be purchased at the venue on the day, we will be operating a card only payment system, click here for further details.


Water Polo Regional Clubs Forum 

Tuesday 4th June the North West water polo management group are holding the first Regional Clubs forum for water polo. This will take place on zoom starting at 7pm to receive the log in details for the forum please complete the form found in this link.  


SENW/SENE Open Water Championships 2024

SENW Artistic Swimming – Novice/Masters Competition 2024

SENW Artistic Swimming Management Group are pleased to announce the details for their 2024 SENW Combination Team & Novice/Non-Regional Standard Figures & Routines and Masters Competition, The competition will take place on: Saturday the 22nd June 2024, click here for further details.


SENW Regional Para-Swimming Training Session 23.6.2024

In line with Swim England Talent Team, Swim England North West host a number of training sessions per year for the Regional Development Programme.

The programme is organised to development young talent, with insight into aquatic alignment and underwater streamlining and stroke development. Land training exercise to build mobility, stability and fundamental movement patterns, click here for further details and to book.

We are inviting all Water Polo coaches in the North West to join our new Coaching Community of Practice WhatsApp Group. The group is to support each other, to ask and answer any questions that you may have and to share best practice., If you are interested in joining the group please email swimnorthwest@swimming.org With your name and club name.


Open Water Officials Training

Swim England Open Water Officials representative, Paul Kendall is looking at running Open Water Technical Officials theory training again this year.  Potential dates for the training are as follows (which will be delivered via Zoom and is expected to last approximately 3 hours):

  • Saturday 18th May &/or Sunday 19th May

GoCardless Swim England Diving National Age Group Championships 2024

The GoCardless Swim England Diving National Age Group Championships is the largest national diving competition in England with athletes battling for national honours across four different age groups, at Sandwell Aquatics Centre, 27 - 30 June 2024 Entries now open click here for further details.

Coaching Opportunities within the North West Region

SENW are regularly looking for coaches to get involved in their Regional Activities, these could include:  Regional Development Programme (Swimming), Regional Distance Development Programme (Swimming) Regional Training Sessions (Swimming, Artistic Swimming, Water Polo & Diving), Skills Sessions, Para Swimming Training, In addition to assisting the Region deliver activities, the opportunity also provides individuals with the ability to gain valuable experience that can be used towards coach development.

If you would like to be considered to assist on poolside at future Regional activities please feel free to complete the following form and we will be in touch, please note, this opportunity is open to all L1, L2 and L3 coaches within the North West Region.

Sport England Funding - £160M New Movement Fund

Sport England have transformed their funding application process to make it easier for sports clubs and other organisations who help people to take part in physical activity apply for money. 

Their new Movement Fund, which has launched this week, simplifies funding applications and will help those with the greatest need secure investment to support people to live active, healthy, lives.

Governance Guidance – Club Structures and Templates

As part of affiliation to Swim England all clubs have to have a constitution i.e. the document that outlines the functions and the rules under which the club operates.

The constitution, together with the club’s policies and procedures, helps to protect club members and officers, and makes the club run more smoothly.

If your Club/League/Local Association constitution is due to expire in 2024 please contact swimnorthwest@swimming.org to ensure you have the correct constitution model template to complete.
