Swim England members given invaluable opportunity to shape coaching strategy
Swim England is consulting with coaches, participants, parents and clubs on a new strategy to be published later this year.
The Co-Creation of the Future of Coaching is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of aquatic coaching and your insights and experiences are crucial to this process, It aims to redefine the purpose of coaching, highlighting best practices, and build a more supportive, inclusive and collaborative coaching culture.
A huge thank you to everyone who has taken time to complete the Co-creation of the Future of Coaching survey. There is still time to get involved in the process if you haven’t already done so – and Swim England are keen to hear from coaches at all levels across all aquatic disciplines, Participants can also share their views on what qualities they value in a coach and what makes a great coaching environment. The views and opinions will help shape a new coaching strategy to be published by Swim England later this year.

We need you! Swim England North West Event Management group volunteers needed
SENW is seeking individuals to join the Regional Event Management group, meetings are held via zoom four times a year.
This role provide a unique opportunity to contribute to the development/organisation of regional events in partnership with the Regional Technical Group, Swim Management Group and Board of Directors.
If you have skills, experience, or just enthusiasm to be involved in the organisation of Regional Swim Events and also the inspiration to support the next generation of athletes, we encourage you to apply.

Swim England North West Ltd Annual General Meeting 2025
The fourth Annual General Meeting of the members of Swim England North West Limited will be held on 12th April 2025 commencing at 10.45am. The meeting will be a ‘hybrid’ meaning that some members will meet ‘face-to-face’ whilst others will join via Zoom. The AGM is one of the main ways to help ensure accountability of the directors of the company (the board) to the members.
Clubs that wish to have a representative at the meeting but are not currently a member of the Company please contact swimnorthwest@swimming.org for further details.

SENW are delighted to announce that the 2025 Summer Swimming Championships will be taking place in the following venues:

Swim England North West National Skills and Age Group Qualifier – Diving Competition
SENW Diving Management Group are delighted to confirm that their 2025 SENW National Skills Qualifier Competition will be taking place at: Manchester Aquatics Centre over 2 days: Saturday 29th March 2025 and Sunday 30th March 2025, click here for further details. English Schools' Swimming Associations Primary Teams' Championships
Tuesday 18th March 2025 at Palatine Leisure Centre, St Anne's Rd, Blackpool FY4 2AP
- The competition will be swum in a 25m pool, all races will be 4 x 25 meters (1 length).
- The shallow end of the pool will be in water takeovers, diving will be at the start end only.
- All swimmers must be born between 01/09/2013 - 31/08/2015
- Small School 0-60 Students | Medium 61-100 Students | Open Schools Any Size
- Entry deadline Sunday 16th March 2025

Swim England North East & Swim England North West – Multi Regional NAGs & Championships – Artistic Swimming
SENE will be hosting a Multi-Regional (SENE & SENW) NAGs/Champs, the event will take place on Sunday 2nd March at John Charles Centre for Sport, Leeds. click here for further details.
Swimming Technical Officials - Judge 1 Theory
This online learning is the first step to achieving Judge 1 status for swimming technical officiating. It is accessible to anyone who wants to understand the World Aquatics rules relating to swimming and the process of being a Judge Swimming Official and Time Keeper. You must be at least 15 years of age at the start of the course, click here to book.
Reimbursement is available on full completion of the course (both theory and practical sections) please contact swimnorthwest@swimmming.org for further details.
Governance Guidance – Club Structures and Templates
As part of affiliation to Swim England all clubs have to have a constitution i.e. the document that outlines the functions and the rules under which the club operates.
The constitution, together with the club’s policies and procedures, helps to protect club members and officers, and makes the club run more smoothly.
If your Club/League/Local Association constitution is due to expire in 2025 please contact swimnorthwest@swimming.org to ensure you have the correct constitution model template to complete.

NEW Swim England Foundation Safeguarding Course for Adults
This free online training session has been designed to give a basic understanding of safeguarding, welfare and best practice for adults within an aquatic environment. The course is aimed at parents, guardians or those who volunteer in a role that does not require a DBS and want to improve their understanding of the topic. Safeguarding and welfare
Swim England have launched a new free online course designed to give young people a basic understanding of safeguarding, welfare and best practice, It's aimed at young volunteers and members who don’t have a designated role at a club that requires a DBS check, but want to improve their understanding of the topic. Please note, if you are currently in a role that requires a DBS, the Foundation Safeguarding for Young People course doesn't replace the need for the Full Swim England Safeguarding in Aquatics course.
