Swim England North West Summer Championships 2025

Good luck to all athletes taking part in this weekend’s SENW Summer Championships 2025 at Liverpool Aquatics Centre – 26th 27th April,

 Currently we do not have enough officials to comply with licensing for session 8 on Sunday in Liverpool and sessions 10 & 12 in Manchester, if you are a licenced and qualified official and think you can help please email swimnorthwest@swimming.org

Volunteers also still required on the following dates: 26th & 27th April, 3rd & 4th May please email if you can help swimnorthwest@swimming.org

Swim England members given invaluable opportunity to shape coaching strategy

A huge thank you to everyone who has taken time to complete the Co-creation of the Future of Coaching survey.

There is still time to get involved in the process if you haven’t already done so – and Swim England is keen to hear from coaches at all levels across all aquatic disciplines.

Participants can also share their views on what qualities they value in a coach and what makes a great coaching environment.

The views and opinions will help shape a new coaching strategy to be published by Swim England later this year.

SENW Regional Para-Swimming Training Session – Darwen Leisure Centre 11.5.2025

In line with Swim England Talent Team, Swim England North West host a number of training sessions per year for the Regional Development Programme. The programme is organised to development young talent, with insight into aquatic alignment and underwater streamlining and stroke development. SENW Swimming Skills Session – (Butterfly & Breaststroke) – Darwen Leisure Centre 11.5.2025

SENW are pleased to inform our members that the second of our long awaited Regional ‘Skills Sessions’ is now available for booking, a series of different Skills Sessions will take place around the Region throughout 2025, the first took place in Kendal back in January and was very successful – the next will be taking place at Darwen Leisure Centre on Sunday 11th May 2025,

The group is committed Water Polo’s growth in the North West. We are actively seeking passionate individual to contribute their expertise and enthusiasm to support the future development of water polo in the North West.

Swim Meet Organiser Workshop

Swim England North West are looking to create a ‘Swim Meet Organiser Workshop’ the workshop will be created to provide clubs/meet organisers with information and guidance to assist them with the organisation and running of Swimming Competitions at their club (from Club championships, through to Level 3 meets), to ensure the content of the workshop is as relevant and detailed as possible we need your help to find out what information you would like to see included, to do this please complete this short 5 minute survey by no later than 9am on Wednesday 30th April, Click here

 

SENW Young Volunteer Award (Online) 9.5.2025

The Swim England North West Young Volunteer Award is designed to provide young people, between the ages of 14 and 17 the opportunity to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to prepare them as Volunteers within Aquatic Sport.  The Award has been designed to suit young people from any Aquatic Discipline, (Swimming, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming and Diving).

Artistic Swimming - Judges update training session

Swim England will be running a Artistic Swimming Judges update training session on 14th July 6-8pm. This is not compulsory, but an opportunity for further learning/support/insight/questions answered/practise etc for all Judges of all levels. Swimming Technical Officials - Judge 1 Theory

This online learning is the first step to achieving Judge 1 status for swimming technical officiating. It is accessible to anyone who wants to understand the World Aquatics rules relating to swimming and the process of being a Judge Swimming Official and Time Keeper. You must be at least 15 years of age at the start of the course, click here to book.

Reimbursement is available on full completion of the course (both theory and practical sections) please contact swimnorthwest@swimmming.org for further details.

 

Swimming Judge 2 training

Judge Level 2 is the next step in the swimming technical official qualification, building upon the skills learned in Judge Level 1. This level focuses on all aspects of judging strokes and involves additional responsibilities, click here to sign up.

 

Governance Guidance – Club Structures and Templates

As part of affiliation to Swim England all clubs have to have a constitution i.e. the document that outlines the functions and the rules under which the club operates.

The constitution, together with the club’s policies and procedures, helps to protect club members and officers, and makes the club run more smoothly.

If your Club/League/Local Association constitution is due to expire in 2025 please contact swimnorthwest@swimming.org to ensure you have the correct constitution model template to complete.
