SENW Regional Para-Swimming Training Session 23.6.2024

In line with Swim England Talent Team, Swim England North West host a number of training sessions per year for the Regional Development Programme.

The programme is organised to development young talent, with insight into aquatic alignment and underwater streamlining and stroke development. Land training exercise to build mobility, stability and fundamental movement patterns, click here for further details and to book.

Water Polo Regional Clubs Forum 

On Tuesday 4th June the SENW Water Polo management group held the first Regional Clubs forum for water polo, It was great to so many clubs attend and hear some great ideas in the discussion, we hope that more clubs will be able to join us in the future. 

Water Polo Talent Centre

The new season for the Water Polo Talent Centre is here! The Trials for Talent Centre North at The Jason Kenny Centre, Bolton are scheduled for U14 – Sunday 16th June (9:00-12:00) U16 – To be agreed following registration. SENW Young Volunteer Award (Online) 9.9.2024

The Swim England North West Young Volunteer Award is designed to provide young people, between the ages of 14 and 17 the opportunity to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to prepare them as Volunteers within Aquatic Sport.  The Award has been designed to suit young people from any Aquatic Discipline, (Swimming, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming and Diving).

Coaching Opportunities within the North West Region

SENW are regularly looking for coaches to get involved in their Regional Activities, these could include:  Regional Development Programme (Swimming), Regional Distance Development Programme (Swimming) Regional Training Sessions (Swimming, Artistic Swimming, Water Polo & Diving), Skills Sessions, Para Swimming Training, In addition to assisting the Region deliver activities, the opportunity also provides individuals with the ability to gain valuable experience that can be used towards coach development.

If you would like to be considered to assist on poolside at future Regional activities please feel free to complete the following form and we will be in touch, please note, this opportunity is open to all L1, L2 and L3 coaches within the North West Region.

Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) Scheme Update

Swim England have advised that HMRC will be sending out letters to clubs who are registered as a CASC, to review their eligibility to stay registered with the scheme.  Clubs are urged to take note of the letter when it arrives and to review any tasks, click here for further details.

Sport England £160M New Movement Fund

Sport England has launched the ‘New Movement Fund’ which is worth £160 million over the next four years, and replaces the existing Small Grants Programme and Active Together fund,

Governance Guidance – Club Structures and Templates

As part of affiliation to Swim England all clubs have to have a constitution i.e. the document that outlines the functions and the rules under which the club operates.

The constitution, together with the club’s policies and procedures, helps to protect club members and officers, and makes the club run more smoothly.

If your Club/League/Local Association constitution is due to expire in 2024 please contact swimnorthwest@swimming.org to ensure you have the correct constitution model template to complete.
