Sprint With The Stars 2022 - Report
On Saturday 3rd September, Winsford had 6 swimmers travel down to London to race in the swim with the stars meet. This meet was an opportunity for some of our swimmers to compete in the London 2012 Olympic pool and race some of the best swimmers in Great Britain. With 216 clubs in attendance it was sure to be a very busy and exciting day of racing for all swimmers.
The events were 50m of each stroke, with heats and then the fastest 9 swimmers making the final, with the added excitement of a 10th swimmer gaining a place who is of a British international standard. The final was played out with the elite swimmer being handicapped by starting their final behind the other swimmers, this allowed for a very exciting race for all swimmers and of course the crowd who were watching and cheering from the stands.
The feedback from the parents was a day of excitement, with all swimmers buzzing to meet the stars of British Swimming, including Adam Peaty who is the fastest Breastroker to have ever lived on the planet. By all accounts a day which was thoroughly enjoyed by all, with some tremendous results with 5 medals and 8 finals achieved and many smiley faces.
