Stockport Metro November Meet Report 2022

Congratulations to all swimmers who represented Winsford Swim Team at the Stockport Metro November Meet 2022. Even though we only had a small team in attendance everyone performed to a superb standard against some strong opposition. The meet was very busy, probably the busiest I have ever seen a meet in Stockport, it was literally a feeling of sardines in a can. Clubs came from as far North as Glasgow, South as London, East as Newcastle and West as Ireland, so it really was a stacked meet with clubs in attendance from all over the British Isles.
There were a number of notable performances, with Tom Rickels picking up numerous first places and Megan, Lewis and Amy all swimming very fast and making a podium placing. Tilly and Abi also had some super swims with PBs coming thick and fast. Add to this we also had Serena Standring performing excellently well in her favoured Breastroke events. It was a very worthwhile Friday night for the distance events plus a full weekend programme, with every single swimmer taking lots of positives away from Stockport.

Amy Kenworthy, Tom Rickels, Megan Rickels, Lewis Turner, Tilly Copeland, Serena Standring, Abigail Binns.
Many thanks to Stewart Rickels who covered the Saturday morning session looking after our swimmers and for officiating in the other sessions.
Now that the SM Meet is complete we congratulate: Lois Inch (100 & 200 Breastroke), Amy Kenworthy (200 Butterfly & 400 Individual Medley) and Carys Roberts (50 Freestyle), who will be racing in Sheffield at the Winter National SC Championships in little under 2 weeks time. Well Done to to Lois, Amy and Carys.
We now move our attention onto the Warrington distance events on Friday evening, followed by the Cheshire Junior gala on the Sunday. We also have the Winter Nationals, Winsford Christmas Meet, Arena Finals and Satellites Meet to look forward to before the year end, so it is busy, busy, busy. Good Luck to all swimmers, swim fast.
The next 9 weeks of training is absolutely crucial not only because of the meets listed above but also with the Cheshire Champs fast approaching. We want to take our largest number of swimmers ever to Macclesfield. I would like all swimmers to enter all events they have consideration times for as the competition is over 3 weekends and we want to perform as a team and gain as many club points as possible. Lots and lots to train for, and 100% we need the best preparation.
See you at the pool
Dan.
