Winsford 3rd place finish - NW Arena Premier League Round 2

Congratulations to all swimmers who represented and supported Winsford Swim Team in round 2 of the North West Arena Premier League at Macclesfield on Saturday 9th November. After round 1 we were going into round 2 in a good position but we knew a number of teams who were just behind us on overall points were in our draw so we had to perform and make sure we got into the A Final.
The racing was a bit stop start all night with many technical problems with the electronic timing but this did not phase our swimmers. In all honesty this was a tough draw with all of the teams showing strength and it proved to be a bit of a slug fest with each team giving each other bloody noses and a few fat lips throughout the gala. We had a decent start but after half way we were a little bit lower on points for what we needed but I have to say our second half of competition was very strong with all swimmers knowing the importance of the final half of the gala and stepping up the intensity and desire accordingly. The last set of relays helped us massively with our final placing and with the final relay of the night the Mens Open 6x50 Free team came a magnificent 1st place. After 50 events Winsford Swim team achieved a magnificent 3rd place overall joint with City of Salford. After two rounds of very tough competition Winsford Swim team have again for the 6th year out of the last 8 years we have been in the Premier League reached the NW Arena Premier League A Final. Well Done to one and all and to boot every single swimmer we use over those years are 100% Winsford Swimmers who train and compete for us 100% of the time, Honesty and Integrity, like Del Boy would say "Triffic"! Winsford Swim Team going from strength to strength and that will continue for many, many, many more years to come, the future is so exciting for Winsford Swim Team.

Many Thanks to all swimmers who represented us and racing with such ferocity, you all did amazing and many thanks to those swimmers who came to Macclesfield to support us, it was fantastic to see so many swimmers make the journey who were not racing. Also a massive thank you to Alex Law and Nigel Woodbridge for coaching and to Claire Brown, Sue Wright and Julie Grindley who did a fantastic job of Team Managing and to all our judges; Adam Parkinson, Lorraine Wilkes and Catharine Line and to Lee "16:00 Hours" Turner for announcing and to Helen Jones for providing the poppies remembering our war heroes and finally to our wonderful supporters on the balcony who turned the balcony orange and shouted all night for our club and swimmers the blow horns were triffic, it is greatly appreciated.
We now look forward to the North West Premier League A Final 2019, well done again to all swimmers and staff who made this fantastic result possible.
See you at the pool.
