Winsford Spring Development Meet 2024 - Report
On Saturday 18th May we hosted our annual Winsford Spring Development meet with Winsford having a massive 66 Swimmers and 7 external clubs came to us, to give us some fierce competition. Thanks to Alsager, Knutsford Vikings, Nantwich Seals, Northwich Centurions, Romily Marina, Satellites and Stockport Metro for supporting our meet. The gala was a fantastic success with fast racing, high energy and fast paced! The event meant lots of racing within a fast turnaround but our swimmers coped fantastically and kept going! So well done all who competed! I couldn’t keep count of how many pbs, it was none stop!!
Thank you once again to all our swimmers for impeccable behaviour and leading such an example to our club. Thank you to every single parent or young volunteer who got involved, these meets will not be possible without you!
An extra special mention to Amy Kenworthy who took her Saturday night to help me coach session 2. Amy did a fantastic job at coaching her first gala and we were extremely thankful for her filling this role at such a vital time. Izzy went to celebrate one of our ex national swimmers get married yesterday- Congratulations Adam Blackshaw! Dan and lots of ex Winsford Swimmers also attended the big day!
We now move onto a very important time of the season, we have Nationals, Open Water and Club Champs to train for- everyone has a new goal to push for now. We really want to see training levels, volume and intensity going up over this last push of this season.
On a final note if we have any other parents who can get involved in the future please discuss with us or come forward- we are always looking for more volunteers! Club Champs is a great one to get involved in as a first step.
