Winsford Swimming Club

37 Winsford swimmers made the journey to our “second pool” over in Macclesfield for the Satellites Summer Sprint Meet. The event, an Open Meet, saw Winsford swimmers competing across all strokes in 50m and 100m events (plus 100 IM) with the meet featuring A, B, and Junior finals for all 50-meter events, providing multiple opportunities for Winsford swimmers to demonstrate their speed, set personal bests and compete for top positions, in addition to medals being awarded for age group performance.

21 members of the orange army (Aston Broomhall, Alfie Butterworth, Logan Robinson, Cole Staley, Ethan Wright, Adam Wright, Ed Smalley, Serena Standring, Eris Coxon, Holly Buckley, Holly Grant, Masa Hall, Kate Schillinger, Ruby Stonier, Erin Ross, Amalie Gooding, Lily Owen, Edward Land, Gus Fraser, Jack Croucher and Charlotte Peel) appeared in the finals, some were in so many they were straight back into marshalling for the next final as soon as they finished their current race.

This is an example of how tight some of the races were - this was the Female 50 free B final!!

30 swimmers came home with age group medals and Winsford racked up a grand total of 56 gold, 41 silver and 24 bronze medals.  Individual medal winners were:

Normally I would call out the 1 or 2 swimmers who did extraordinarily well in setting personal bests, but there were so many it’s too difficult to name them here, but it is setting us up for a great club championships starting next weekend!
