Welcome Winsford Swim Team - Season 2021-2022
As of tomorrow we begin a new month and officially a brand spanking, box fresh, new season. I am 100% certain that the whole club are looking forward with tremendous excitement for the challenges, frills, spills and enjoyment we will go through. Swimming is such a wonderful sport to be involved in, and being a part of Winsford Swim Team just adds that cherry on top of the cake to that enjoyment.
Over August we have kept training going the best we can, keeping our swimmers aerobically fit so we can hit September in good physical condition. Over the coming weeks we begin the Winsford Swim Team Club Championships 2021. Last year unfortunately they couldn’t go ahead due to Covid but this year we are back with with a bang. For me the Club Championships are a fantastic way to start the season, the whole club coming together to race over all distances, and the ever so exciting SKINS races. To date we have 131 swimmers racing over the coming weeks, this is an amazing number and I think probably the largest number we have ever had competing. Lots to look forward to and an early season chance to go racing and post ranking times for future meets down the line. I am sure all our swimmers will be keen to attend training as much as possible in the lead up to one of the highlights of the year, our Club Championships 2021.
Not only have we got the club championships to look forward to, but also have the Arena League and we will be looking at the competition calendar very shortly. I am sure over the coming weeks more meets will be going onto the Swim England Licensed calendar then we will be able to select appropriate meets for our swimmers. As always it is very important for our swimmers to race, not only to practice the skills, techniques and pacing which we practice in training, but to also have that goal in training of working towards a race meet or championship. Racing is so much fun, and again I am sure all our swimmers are bursting at the seems to go racing against other swimmers and other clubs. Due to Covid we have a lot of catching up to do, so let's enjoy the racing!
We as a club are looking like we are in a strong position, our swimmers look hungry, the intensity and desire shown in our training looks top notch. We have some outstandingly hard working and committed children and young people, all training and practicing with the clear goal of constant improvement. Coaching is easy when we all share the same goals and motivations to strive and target for the stars.
The coaching team are looking forward to the new season, and working with each and every one of our swimmers, helping them to achieve their goals. I have said it before but for success to be achievable we all need to work together, coaches, swimmers and parents, all working together, striving to the best we can be.
Season 2021-2022 is going to be the best we have ever had, we are going to go for it one million percent, no fear, just eye balls out going for it. We are going to attack every minute of it together and enjoy every last bit of it, it is going to be the biggest, wildest roller coaster ride we have ever been on, and we won't want to get off.
Welcome to everyone who trains, competes and wears the Winsford Swim Team orange.
Season 2021-2022 is going to be fun, lets go for it.
See you at the pool.
Dan.
