Buxton Autumn Meet Report 2025!
Congratulations to the big team of swimmers who competed in the Buxton Autumn meet this year. The gala was a level 2 competition with some really high quality swimmers including some big GB elite names, world junior medalists, junior Olympic medalists, Commonwealth medalists & European medalists! What an experience getting to watch them swim and swim head to head with them!
We had swimmers from bronze squad right through to our oldest swimmers there searching for national times. As a club we finished 2nd overall on points, double of the club in third and only behind Repton. We had lots of great PB’s so congratulations to each and every swimmer!
Extended congratulations to Giorgio for achieving more Winter Nationals times and over 600 Para points for the first time ever. And to George D and Summer for achieving their Cheshire times for next year! Well done to Emily (4th), Holly B (5th) Eris (6th) and Charlotte P (8th) in the top girl competition, this shows some amazing squad depth and girl power. Lost track of how many medalists we got, but we heard a lot of you coming before we could see you with them, beautiful heavy medals this year as well, loved them!
Thank you to Sara for organising the evening meal, we had a lovely evening and a nice big club sleepover in Matlock, these weekends are fantastic social time as well. Thank you to John and Ethan for joining me and Izzy for a day each & well done to Ethan for getting in for a couple of splash and dashes as well, feeling quite small compared to some of the Repton giant lads. Thank you to James, Maria and Clare for officiating the weekend and to Lucy for helping with the marshalling. Thank you Dani, Sara, Gemma, Paul and Zoe for TM’ing.
After 7 weekends on the row of galas, beginning with North Mids for Iz and myself including our own Masters Nationals it’s safe to say we are really feeling it, as we appreciate a lot of you guys are as well. We’ve had a fantastic start of the season. We look forward to two whole weeks of solid training with no comps on the weekend to push onto Arena finals, our Winsford gala and Winter nationals. Let’s go team, stick with us we’ve got this!
Final one is congratulations to our swimmers who competed in the ESSA Relay Nationals, looks like you all had a fantastic day & to Uni swimmers at BUCS, we saw some incredible swims and splits there. We look forward to catching up with you all when you’re home in December.
Thank you
Molly & Izzy
