North Midlands 2023 - Weekend 1 Report
Congratulations to all swimmers who represented Winsford Swim Team over the first weekend of the North Midland Championships 2023. Winsford as always were in fine form both in the pool and on poolside with very fast racing and tremendous support.
A full report will be produced after the final weekend in 2 weeks time but to date we have achieved 42 GOLD, 35 SILVER, 44 BRONZE medals, massing a total 121 medals. Not only this but we had 5 swimmers (Amy Kenworthy, Adam Wright, Kate Schillinger, Sophie Grindley, Molly James) gain overall championship trophies over 7 events.
The racing over the first 4 sessions has been frilling with all our swimmers giving their very best. I have to say the support all our swimmers showed for each other was a joy to behold, it really was. No other team cheer on like us, we get up and take an active part in the racing and bring a tremendous atmosphere to the pool. It was fun to race, it was fun to cheer, it was fun to get wet, it was a super fun weekend for our club.
Of course we are only half way through the North Midlands, but we are currently lying in top club position for the points totals, so it is imperative that we go again in 2 weeks time and that all our swimmers give their best in every single race. I know everyone will be looking forward to sessions 5-8 and having more fun as a team and making a massive contribution for our club.
