Cheshire to move to Tier 3 on Boxing Day
From Boxing Day Cheshire will move to Tier 3. This means that:
"All club activity for participants under the age of 18 can continue in tiers 1-3 across all disciplines. People who were aged 17 or younger on 31 August 2020 are considered to be under 18 until the end of the 2021 academic year. There are also exemptions to the limitations on organised indoor sport for people with disabilities and sport for educational purposes which can continue with any number of participants.
For people aged 18 and over the latest government guidance states:
In tier 3 areas: people should not take part in any indoor sport or physical activity with people from outside their household. This includes indoor team and individual sports, training sessions and exercise classes. Gyms and sport facilities will remain open, but group activities are not permitted (unless the group consists of a single household or bubble)."
Unfortunately this means that all our swimmers aged 18+ (except those in year 13) cannot swim in club sessions. They can, however, attend public swimming sessions.
As there is another announcement due on Boxing Day we have decided we will not amend the remaining Christmas Schedules and beyond until after that announcement has been made.
Thanks
Lucie
