Molly James - British Champion - 3km GB Masters 25-29years.

On Saturday 4th September Molly James, our Masters swimmer and coach of Development, was racing in South Wales at the British Masters Championships 2021. After a long journey of 4 hours the previous day she arrived at the venue full of excitement and determination to swim the race of her life.

Molly was racing in Pontypool, South Wales at the Llandegfedd Reservoir (I hope I have spelt that right), in the 25-29 years old 3km event. The water temperature was a mild 18 degrees, and the conditions were calm with little wind, so perfect conditions for a fast swim, and Molly certainly delivered.

After 3 laps of the 1km course Molly came in on a time of 36 Minutes, 31 Seconds and 3 tenths (the 3 tenths do matter), which was good enough for the GOLD medal, and being awarded the crown of British open water champion for the ladies 25-29 for the 3km distance.

A fantastic achievement for Molly, and thoroughly deserved as she has has put in so much work in preparation for these championships.

Well Done, Molly loved the experience and I am sure she is still showing some signs of the number 53 which was printed onto her body a full 6 times.

See you at the pool.

Dan.
