AGM Item on Organisation - April 25

At the recent AGM it was suggested that we communicate our Club Management Structure to all members with more visibility on the website and an open invitation to get involved if you’re not already doing so.

We have, over a long period developed a ‘team’ approach to Club Management.  This is due to a few factors including wanting more ideas, opinions and skill sets and recognising that most parents work full-time and cannot commit to running an area by themselves.
A list of the different teams and a brief description of their responsibilities is listed below:

- The Gala Team who work alongside the coaches to put together our annual Gala programme.
- The Coaching and Teaching Team who deliver the sessions alongside a growing number of volunteers (14 years and over)
- The Team Managers Team, who are key to our participation in all Galas and Swim Camps
- The Officials Team who are again key to us being able to organise and attend Galas
- The Welfare Team, who deal with any safeguarding or welfare issues
- The Membership Team which covers both new members and annual swimmer registrations with Swim England
- The Communications Team which covers both the Website and our other social media outlets
- The Social Events Team who organise all of our annual events as well as raffles and other fund raising within the Club
- The Executive Team which consists of the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and supported by both Coaching and Communication Teams.
- The Extras who will often do a small but crucial job which could be anything from helping set up for a gala, coming on poolside to help the coaches with some timing, collecting and distributing hoodie orders etc.

This structure, with traditional roles split into smaller elements, makes it much easier to get involved and become a part of managing our Club.  Each Team has a ‘lead’ who can be contacted through the website if you would like any more information about helping out in a particular area.
Thanks
Barry
