Liverpool Spring LC Meet 2020 - Report
Over the weekend of the 14th and 15th March Winsford Swim Team had 24 swimmers travelling to Wavertree, Liverpool to race in the first full LC Meet of the season which is situated in the National Qualifying Window. The meet had two main purposes, the first being to gain LC practice and experience going into the NW Regional Championships and the second purpose being, it was our last chance to gain NW Regional Consideration Times and also gain very first National Ranking Times. So it was a meet to see where we are at over the LC format and to set a benchmark to build upon going into the the LC meets to follow.
The meet was very full, probably the busiest I have ever seen a National Window meet at Liverpool, so the competition was packed with swimmers coming from all over the country and many clubs from Wales. Winsford had 24 representatives ranging from swimmers who were competing in their first L1 LC Meet to those swimmers who have raced in the National Championships year upon year. For the very first LC meet of the window the results were excellent with numerous swimmers racing to life time bests and some putting themselves into a very good position in the National Rankings.
Special mention goes to all swimmers who achieved new NW Regional Consideration times over the weekend and an extra special mention to Lois Inch who broke the meet records for both the 100 and 200 Breastroke with some phenomenal swims, well done.
A very good start to our LC Meets, well done to all swimmers who represented Winsford this weekend at Stockport and Liverpool.
