Gala Details

Details for warm ups, timeline and roles for volunteers are all available here

Withdrawals by 8:30am Saturday 6th July for Sessions 4 and 5 - if you know you are injured and cannot swim, or no longer wish to swim this weekend please let us know asap. You can withdraw using the "my events" section of Swimming Events up to 8:30am on the day of the session. After that, please still let us know by emailing wingalateam@gmail.com and we will swim with empty lanes - or may reseed if it takes out a heat.

Please, please, please check that the swimmer actually wants to do the events they have entered.  It is incredibly frustrating when swimmers tell us they don't want to swim, and they don't know why they were entered in the first place.

SKINS

SKINS is the exciting conclusion to our Club Champs. Places were earned based on 200IM swims on the 22nd June. Please check to see if you have a place and if you do not wish to swim, please let us know by 9pm on Thursday 4th July so reserves can be prepared. For full details, including what SKINS is, please click here

Raffle and Swim Shop

There will be a raffle and swim shop upstairs just outside the balcony doors to raise money for the club. If you have any donations for the swim shop, please just bring them along.

Club Championships Reminders

Please read the following to ensure the best Club Championships for everyone.

• Changing rooms - cubicles should be left clear.  There are around 30 cubicles and 140 swimmers so please put your things in lockers.

• Changing rooms (part two) - please be aware that other people will be using the changing rooms.  Don't turn up too early, getting in the way.  Check what Warm Up group you are in and arrive accordingly.

•  Swimmers should remain on poolside throughout the gala.  If you need to leave for any reason you should let a Marshall know.  It is considerably harder to send swimmers up for their races if we are having to search the building for them first.

•  Spectators should remain on the balcony and not view from the changing rooms.

•  NO phones in the changing rooms or on poolside (this includes parents in the changing rooms)

•  Swimmers and spectators should respect the officials' decisions - which are final.  We do not go searching for reasons to disqualify anyone and every decision is verified by multiple people.  As disappointing as disqualifications are please consider them a learning experience to find out what mistake you made and how to avoid it in the future.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Michael
