North Midlands 2026 - 1st weekend

Well done team, a fabulous start to North Mids considering how many poorly swimmers we had. Having only just done club champs it makes for a tricky analysis, but still managed lots of PBs / on PB throughout the weekend which is perfect place to be at this point of the season.

It was great to see so many youngsters competing, some at their first external gala! Thank you to many of our older swimmers who supported coaches, swimmers and TMs this weekend. Thank you to every single Winsford TM, volunteer and official over the weekend - couldn’t do it without any of you! Thank you to John, Ethan and Nicky for coaching support this weekend.

Erin Ross - 50 Fly

Hannah Keegan - 200 free

Edward Smalley - 100 back

Noah Blemmings - 100 free

Eris Coxon - 200 IM

Charlotte Ainscough - 100 fly + 800 free

I also have to mention the female 400 IM and 100 fly results, Winsford took 7 of the top 10 places in both events! The 400 IM we had straight 1-4th placings: as above Charlotte A took the overall win followed by a Winsford 2nd, 3rd and 4th: Eris, Hattie, Penelope. Insane display of dominance - well done!

We are also sat in 1st place for the points total at 1222, 200 points above the next which is fab - let’s keep it up for the 2nd weekend.
