Summer Holiday Training Times - from Mon 8th August - Sunday 4th September

Summer Holiday Training Times
As in all years we will be reducing training slightly over August to allow swimmers a little break and for the coaching team to get some much needed rest before we begin in earnest the new season in September.
Swimming has an incredibly long season, probably longer than any other sport, and with this in mind it is very important for us all to regenerate and refresh during August so we can come back in September with a Big Bang. It is also important to note that keeping a good degree of aerobic base fitness during August will give us a distinct advantage going into the early season meets which of course begin with our Club Championships (closing date 21st Aug).
August will not only be a time for light aerobic training but a great opportunity for a real push on our skills and technique on all four strokes, or should I say 5 strokes, as underwater skill is known to be the 5th stroke. So yes August is a time for us to focus on our techniques and skills whilst maintaining a base fitness. When swimmers are back from their summer holidays I would strongly encourage everyone to make the most of the sessions we put on, this will lead us nicely into the Club Champs and then onto the North Mids (project 100, yes over 100 swimmers racing in Macclesfield is the target) and the Arena League which both take place in October.
Summer Training Schedule
  • All training as normal up to and including Sunday 7th August.

We as a club have had an absolutely wonderful season, so much to celebrate for all our swimmers. Our results don’t happen through chance, it is many hours of hard work, commitment and dedication from all swimmers, coaches, parents and committee. So well done and thank you to everyone who has contributed to our club's results, an outstanding team effort.
It has been an absolute whirlwind of an 11 months, with lots and lots to celebrate. Of course all the success doesn’t mean a thing unless it is done with a big smile on the face, so I hope everyone enjoyed the season, because we at Winsford want to try and encourage a life long love for the sport. So keep smiling!
On behalf of all the coaching and teaching team, we would like to wish all our members a lovely summer break and we look forward to welcoming everyone back from their holidays, ready a raring to go in September for the 2022-2023 season!
Winsford Swim Team, Developing excellence in swimming.
See you at the pool
Dan.
