About Us

We consider Winsford ASC to be one of the best pound for pound swimming clubs in the North West of England. All swimmers are coached by fully qualified staff with decades of experience. The training program is run by professional coaches Michael Secker, Claire Brown, Izzy Burton, Molly James, Reece Craghill and Nickie Ma. We also have an army of volunteer coaches who help out enormously.

The club offers over 16 and a half hours of pool time, plus Long Course training every month at Liverpool, plus land training for all Juggernaut swimmers. We have a six lane deck level pool with a state of the art electronic timing system and we are Swim Mark Accredited.

We aim to be a friendly, inclusive, competitive swimming club which caters for all swimmers from Stage 6 lessons to national level competitors. We operate lessons and squad systems, with a Development Squad to bridge the gap between the two. Advancement through the various levels is determined by the teaching and coaching teams through continuous assessments and regular promotions.

The club regularly produces County and Regional Champions and many swimmers achieving National Qualification. In the season 2022-2023 we gained 73 county qualifiers, 72 NW regional qualifiers and 10 National Qualifiers (so far!).

We have two teams competing in the Arena League and use these to offer swimmers of differing abilities competitive opportunities at an appropriate level. We are currently in the Premier Division of the North West Arena League with Arena A and were champions of the Minor Leagues this year with Arena B. We also encourage swimmers to enter open meets in which the club participates. Club Championships are held once a year and time trials at regular intervals to allow swimmers’ progress to be closely monitored.

The club is run by volunteers and, like most swimming clubs, relies heavily on parental support. If you would like to help in any way please contact the club secretary on clubsecwasc@gmail.com

Wavepower 2024 - The Swim England Child Safeguarding Policies and Procedures

Wavepower 2024 is the latest Swim England Child Safeguarding Policies and Procedures publication. It has been produced to assist in safeguarding and protecting children in our sport and must be adopted by all Swim England affiliated clubs and organisations.

Ensuring that children are safeguarded should be a key part of how our clubs and swim schools operate and helps to provide a safe, happy and fun environment in which children can learn to swim and develop their skills. The responsibility to safeguard children does not belong to any one person, but instead belongs to everyone who plays a part in delivering our sporting activities. Wavepower is intended for anyone involved in these activities and offers practical guidance and information on mandatory requirements and good practice.
